Newsletter – Week 10, Term 2 2021

Birkdale North
School Newsletter

Kia ora,

I can hardly believe we are at the end of term 2 already!  I know I am tired and I see a lot of our tamariki are also getting tired.

We have had a busy term with a lot happening including a fantastic week of Matariki activities last week culminating in the Matariki Kapa Haka festival and our Matariki disco on Friday! I hope for all our whanau who will be continuing to celebrate Matariki during the holidays next week that it is a happy and special time for you.

This week we continue with our cultural week where we are celebrating the different cultures within Birkdale North. Please remember that on Friday we would love your tamariki to dress in traditional costumes for our parade (9:10am – 10:00am outside on the court if weather allows us to or insde the hall otherwise) and have our shared lunch where we hope the tamariki will bring some food connected to their culture to share with others. Please bring the food in anytime before 1:00pm (to the library at this point).

I hope you have a good break and take some time for yourself and your tamariki, they grow so quickly, don’t put off having some special moments altogether! (I still wonder where the years have gone).

Nga mihi

Jan
